The same king costume also comes in blue and green, so each king can wear a different colour. Nativity shepherd and innkeeper costumes
Our Kids Brown Shepherd Costume puts a brown striped jacket over a long white tunic, with a white rope-style belt and a matching headdress, and the same set suits an innkeeper or Joseph. Our shepherd costumes also come in grey and gold. |

Frequently Asked Questions
What characters are in a nativity play?
A nativity play tells the Christmas story through Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus, with shepherds, angels, and kings or wise men, and often an innkeeper, a star, and stable animals such as sheep and a donkey. Our nativity costumes cover Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, the kings and wise men, the angels, and the sheep.
What does an innkeeper wear in a nativity play?
A long tunic, a jacket, a belt, and a headdress make an innkeeper outfit. Our Kids Brown Shepherd Costume has all four and suits a shepherd, an innkeeper, or Joseph.
Is a nativity king the same as a wise man?
In a nativity play, king and wise man are two names for the same part. Our nativity king costumes are a jersey robe with a metallic-print vest, a headdress, and a crown, in red, blue, or green, and our wise man costumes come in red, blue, and gold, each with a crown hat.
What sizes do kids' nativity costumes come in?
Our kids' shepherd, Mary, Joseph, wise man, and sheep costumes come in Small (ages 4-6), Medium (7-9), Large (10-12), and X-Large (12-14). The nativity king costumes run from Toddler (3-4 years) to Large, and the lamb onesie starts at 1-2 years.
Do you have nativity costumes for adults?
Yes. Our Women's Mary Nativity Costume is a dress with an attached cape, a waist tie, and a hood, in four sizes from Small (8-10) to X-Large (20-22).
Can a nativity costume go over normal clothes?
Our Joseph costume slips on over regular clothing, and the sheep costume is a hooded top worn with a child's own leggings or trousers. The tunics are long, so it is worth a practice walk up and down the stage steps before the play.
How do I wash a nativity costume?
Give the fabric pieces a cold hand wash and an air dry.
