Your child's own legs go inside the "carrying" character's costume as normal, while the stuffed pair up front takes the passenger role. Nothing inflates and nothing needs charging: it is ready to wear as soon as the legs are stuffed, about a minute.

Getting the fit and safety right
Most of the range is one size fits most; where a product page states an age or a height, the Alien covers 6 to 12 years old and the Former President and T-Rex cover 3'11" to 5'3". The Toddler Skeleton Piggyback Costume is the exception, sized specifically for a younger child rather than the wider kids range. Check the age or height stated on the product page before ordering, since a costume built for older kids will sit loose or ride high on a much smaller toddler.
A plain t-shirt underneath works well under any of these. Give a piggyback costume a cold hand wash and an air dry; never machine-wash it.
