Top Ten World Book Day Costumes

It’s World Book Day on the 3rd of March, the most sacred of days in any primary school calendar, when cute little kids everywhere cast aside their school uniform and skip off to class dressed as their favourite literary character instead.

For the ultra-organised parent, it’s a hotly anticipated opportunity to test advanced dressmaking skills, with many a joyous hour spent carefully sewing together a fantastically brilliant fancy dress costume, worthy of the West End stage.

For the rest of us, it’s five nightmarish minutes spent cobbling together something a bit rubbish right at the last minute with a hangover (usually involving a couple of tea towels and an old bed sheet.)

So, because we understand the plight of the busy parent and we really want your children to love you, we’ve pulled together a list of ten top World Book Day costumes.  And we’ve even chucked in the corresponding books too. So now you don’t have to do anything and everyone will think you’re brilliant. Easy peasy.
