What happened to the old list

The Bierkeller closed after 12 years at the Printworks (the brand still pours in Liverpool, Birmingham and Nottingham), Tiger Tiger shut in 2019, and Lammars on Hilton Street is long gone. Of our original five venues, only Baa Bar and Efes are still trading. Albert's Schloss: the Bavarian bier palace

Albert's Schloss at 27 Peter Street is an all-day Alpine pleasure palace: tankards of Munich-brewed bier, a Cook Haus full of schnitzel and bratwurst, and a stage that runs cabaret and live shows every night. The house line on clothing is smart casual, but Oktoberfest outfits are heartily encouraged when the celebrations roll around, which makes it the one bar in Manchester where lederhosen count as dressing correctly.

Dates run most weekends through July and August 2026, plus themed specials like 90s vs 00s nights.
