The Cavern Club at 10 Mathew Street has been putting bands on since 1957, gave The Beatles their break, and still runs live music every day. It is a music venue first, so keep the costume wearable: you will be stood in a warm brick vault singing, not posing.

Two rules keep the night on track. First, if your group is ten or more, ring the venue that afternoon; door staff say yes far more often when they know you are coming. Circo left its old Kings Dock home back in 2016 and now runs its circus from Seel Street. The Cavern, the Bierkeller, Popworld and the Concert Square bars are all still pouring.
