How do inflatable dinosaur costumes work, and how long does the fan last?
A built-in fan blows the costume up, and elasticated seals at the openings keep the air in. Our inflatable T-Rex runs for around four hours of continuous use on a full set of four AA batteries, which are not included. A real T. rex stood about 3.5 to 4 metres tall at the hips, according to the Natural History Museum. Ours borrows its bulk from air instead: the high-powered fan fills it and the seals hold it there.
The how-to-wear card in the product images walks you through putting it on: the top of your head goes through the neck hole and not the face hole, the Velcro fastens under your chin, your arms go into the sleeves, you do up the zip, then you wait for it to inflate.
